Training Programme for Newly Recruited Survey Personnel Inaugurated in Coimbatore
Coimbatore, January 21, 2026:
A training programme for 62 newly recruited Surveyors and Draftsmen was inaugurated in Coimbatore district on Tuesday at Christ the King Polytechnic College, Othakalmandapam.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Regional Deputy Director of Survey, G. Mohan, in the presence of Assistant Director of Survey S. Saravanan, Madukkarai Tahsildar V. Velmurugan, Technical Manager K.V. Gopalakrishnan, Administrative Officer U. Murugesan, and Dr. A. Antony Fernandez, Principal of Christ the King Polytechnic College.
Welcoming the participants, U. Murugesan, Administrative Officer, delivered the welcome address, while the inaugural address was delivered by Dr. A. Antony Fernandez. The presidential address was given by Mr. Mohan, who highlighted the importance of accuracy, integrity, and technical proficiency in survey operations. Mr. Saravanan delivered the felicitation address.
As part of the programme, the newly recruited personnel were provided with drawing kits and refresher kits to support their training. The drawing kits included essential surveying and drafting materials, while the refresher kits contained basic personal utility items.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by P. Praveen Kumar, Inspector of Survey, Coimbatore.
The training aims to equip the recruits with practical knowledge and skills required for efficient fieldwork and survey administration in the district.
