Coimbatore highways engineer honoured at Bridge conference..

Coimbatore, December 17:
A Divisional Engineer of the Special Projects Division of the Highways Department, Coimbatore, was honoured with a commemorative shield at the national conference “Bridge 2025 – Bridge Engineering in Viksit Bharat @ 2047”, held in Chennai.

The conference was organised by the Indian Institution of Bridge Engineers in association with the Indian Institute of Technology Madras.

During a technical session, the Divisional Engineer presented a research paper detailing the planning and execution of the G.T. Naidu flyover on Avinashi Road in Coimbatore. Stretching 10.1 km, the elevated corridor is the longest flyover in south India and is considered a significant milestone in the Tamil Nadu government’s infrastructure initiatives.

In recognition of his notable contributions to the field of bridge engineering, the engineer was presented with a commemorative shield at the conference.

At the event, Coimbatore Circle Superintending Engineer Jeyalakshmi, Assistant Divisional Engineers Agila and Maheswari, and Assistant Engineer Vignesh were also honoured. The achievements of the engineers of the Highways Department in Coimbatore were widely appreciated.
